NEW HOUSING PROJECT BY SPNB IN JOHOR

Kluang, Feb 3 – A total of 464 units of single storey terrace house will be constructed by Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB) at Lot PT 12565, Mukim Ulu Benut, Kluang, Johor.
Called as Taman Tiara Perdana, the project was launch by Dato’ Hj. Baderi bin Hj. Dasuki, Chairman of Johor Public Works and Housing Committee at the project site today. Also presence was YBhg. Dato’ Khairudin Samad, Senior General Manager, Corporate and Services of SPNB.
Strategically located at the main road of Simpang Renggam – Ayer Hitam and merely 1km to Simpang Renggam Town, this affordable housing project will be built on a least hold land and gives 15% discount for the Bumiputra buyers.
Two types of houses will be constructed determined by their sizes. A total of 261 units will be built on a minimum land area of 20’ x 65’ / 850 sqf built up with tagging price at RM78,115 while the other 203 units will be built on a minimum land area of 22’ x 70’ / 930 sqf built up which a starting price of RM84,938 for a unit. With minimum amount of RM500 deposit, the public who are interested to own these houses can enjoy with their new homes by 2010.
SPNB is committed in developing 150,000 units of Affordable Homes throughout Malaysia. SPNB has targeted to develop 27,000 of homes by year 2010 in Johor which will cover all districts particularly Johor Bahru, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Segamat and Kulai.
At the moment, SPNB is constructing 752 units of affordable homes in Johor Bahru (Taman Seri Setanggi), 1,022 units in Kluang (including Taman Tiara Perdana) and 276 units in Mukim Kesang, Muar. SPNB is also looking forward to build another 18,971 units of such houses in Johor in the near future.
Besides affordable home, SPNB also build houses for less fortunate people under the Rumah Mesra Rakyat Scheme. Specifically for low income group such as farmers and fishermen, the scheme has been implemented throughout the country where 11,010 units of such houses have been approved to be developed with 1,993 units are under construction and 4,428 units have been handed over to the owners. Statistic shows that Johor has recorded 1,241 applications that have been approved with 197 units are under construction and 463 units have been completed.
Another role and function of SPNB is to rehabilitate the identified abandon projects instructed by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government. As at 31 December 2007, a total of 70 rehabilitation projects consist of 20,793 units of houses were completed with Government Fund as well as consultation by SPNB. On the other hand, SPNB is rehabilitating 20 abandon projects which consist of 5,542 units of houses.
In line with the Government effort to provide comfortable house for the people and with the increase demand of housing property in our country, SPNB is looking forward to open its new branches in Kedah and Kelantan in the near future.
