‘VISTA PERDANA’ – GLORIOUS LIVING BY SPNB

Miri, June 21 – Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB) strengthen its presence in Sarawak with its new development of another housing project which features a total of 2,703 various units under Rumah Mampu Milik (RMM) Scheme in Miri. Located only 10km away from Miri city, the housing project called ‘Vista Perdana’ caters low medium to medium income earners.
The project launch which was officiated by Y.B. Dato Sri Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Abang Haji Openg, the Sarawak Housing Minister also attended by Y.B. Senator Dato’ Azian Osman, Chairman of SPNB, Y.Bhg. Dato’ Hj. Mohd Amin bin Mohd Salleh, Managing Director of SPNB and other distinguished guests.
The project that sits on the prime land of Miri is strategically located as people will have easy access to schools, international higher learning institutes, government offices, shopping centre and recreational park. The township which planned for quality residential houses also promises value appreciation to house buyers from their valuable purchase.
The first phase of 296-acre development comprises several type of houses such as 1,690 units of 850 sqf-single storey terrace house priced from RM149,500 are available for medium income bracket and exclusive yet affordable 368 units of Semi-D and 83 units of bungalows priced from RM230,500 for people who are looking for premium houses. The next phase will cater 502 units of single storey houses and 60 units of double storey shop lots with 750sqf and 2400 sqf of built up respectively. The purchaser can enjoy low downpayment of RM300.
Under RMM Scheme, SPNB is committed to develop 66 projects comprise of 71,561 units of affordable homes throughout Malaysia valued at RM7.6 billion.Thus far, SPNB has completed 3,258 units worth RM212 million. In Sarawak itself, SPNB targets to develop 12,241 units of various houses in Kuching, Sibu, Kota Samarahan, Miri and Bintulu districts. Currently, SPNB is constructing 1,152 apartments in Kota Samarahan known as ‘Vista Ilmu’ and 1,975 units of various affordable homes in Jalan Sultan Tengah, Kuching called ‘Vista Wawasan’.
To cater for the low income group, SPNB is committed to develop houses under the Rumah Mesra Rakyat Scheme (RMR). Since the implementation of the scheme in 2002 throughout the country, a total of 12,157 units of the said houses have been approved to be developed valued at RM652 million with 1,394 units are under construction. Thus far, 5,745 units have been handed over to the owners that cost RM252 million. The implementation of RMR in Sarawak with the cooperation of Housing Development Corporation (HDC) recorded 529 approved applications with 152 units have been completed and handed over to the applicants.
SPNB also rehabilitate abandon projects as instructed by the Ministry of Finance under the purview of Ministry of Housing and Local Government. As at todate, SPNB has successfully rehabilitated a total of 72 projects comprise of 22,452 units of houses, of which, 18 projects consist of 9,207 units valued at RM354 million have been fully revived by SPNB. Meanwhile, another 54 projects consist of 13,245 units have been completed by the respective contractors with assistance, professional advice and close monitoring. Currently, SPNB is rehabilitating a total of six abandon projects consist of 2,035 units of houses worth at RM127 million. With assistance from Kementerian Perumahan Negeri Sarawak, SPNB is to rehabilitate three abandon projects namely Taman Seni, Taman Desa Guru and Stapok Avenue.
