APPOINTMENT OF DATUK Ir. HJ. IDRIS BIN HJ. HARON AS CHAIRMAN OF SPNB

Kuala Lumpur, 9 April - Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Y.B. Datuk Ir. Hj. Idris bin Hj. Haron as Chairman of SPNB effective from 1st April 2010. He who has 15 years experience as professional engineer succeeds Y.B Senator Dato’ Azian Osman whose contract expired recently.

Y.B. Datuk Ir. Hj. Idris bin Hj. Haron, 44 holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas, Elpasso, United States. He is an exceptional speaker, counselor and also moderator who collaborates well with the media, business and community.

Currently, he is Tangga Batu Parliamentarian and a Member of UMNO Supreme Council. His previous position in the government was a Deputy Minister for Higher Education from March 2008 until April 2009.

At a glance, SPNB is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Minister Of Finance Incorporated (MOf Inc.) which committed to provide quality affordable homes through implementation of several programmes such as Rumah Mampu Milik (RMM), Rumah Mesra Rakyat (RMR) and Rehabilitation of Abandoned Housing Projects. For RMM, a total of 9,046 units of houses have been completed and 28,208 units are under construction.
